Photoshow Champion Roundup

 It has been quite some time since I have shared photoshow champions with you! So I thought I would round up the champions from the last six months.

All of these photos were champions in Popular Votes Photoshows. This is a Facebook group that is open to all where we run free small photoshows each month. Each show has a different theme and the winners are chosen by the group members. It is good fun and easy and quick to do. There is a rosette for each champion.

Popular Votes Photoshows - May Show

I honestly cannot believe we are nearly half-way through 2023 already! As we welcome in the horrific May weather and hope for something warmer we also welcome our fifth photoshow of the year.

This May's theme is 'Northlight'. The show is open to all Northlight models, both original finish and custom finish.

There is a range of breed classes which I have tried to split up with reference to the moulds that Northlight have actually produced. I have also now added a partbred class having realised that I forgot it when doing my entries!

This is a great show if you are a Northlight Collector but is also a nice show to enter if, like me, you only have a few Northlight models.

If you are new to Popular Votes Photoshows then please make sure to read the group rules. This is important because we rely on voting for the show to function so if you like photos in the group before judging opens then this causes problems and you will be banned from the group!

 It's that time of the month again, the entries are in and it's time for you guys to get voting!

This month's theme was Copperfox and there are loads of gorgeous entries.

Then you will need to go to each album and vote for your favourite entry in each by 'liking' your favourite picture.

 I do apologise that I have not been on top of making sure there are updates about our ongoing shows in here. I promise to do better in future!

For those who don't know what Popular Votes Photoshows is, it is a Facebook group that has been running since 2015. We run a different show each month. Each show is judged by group members, who like each others photos in a set window of time. The horses with the most likes win their class and go into a championship! Champions get a rosette sent to them and get to be the cover photo for the next month.

April's Photoshow is OPEN!

I hope you are all enjoying being inside, or being outside and risking the life of yourself, your family and all those you love so that you can serve your community (YOU ARE AWESOME PEOPLE).

Well if you are stuck inside may I recommend you pop outside to your garden and get some pics of your Traditional scale models because this month's photoshow is all about Traditionals!

It is open to all makes and models, the only requirement is that it must be approximately Traditional (around 1:9) scale. So this would include Breyers, Stones, Customs, Resins and anything else you happen to have that's about the right size.

Once you've been accepted please read the rules document and comment underneath that you understand:

Then you just need to upload your pictures into each album. Click on 'photos' and then 'albums' and then select the album you want. Each class has its own album.

You can enter up to 6 photos per class. Once you are done just sit back and wait for voting to start.

Congratulations to March's Champion!

March's theme for Popular Votes Photoshows was 'Schleich'.

I'm not entirely sure what it says about the Schleich horses that the winner of the entire show was a rabbit, but it is a very very cute rabbit and a lovely photo so we'll leave it at that!

A very well done to Abbie and her adorable rabbit FTF Patches, your rosette will be with you at some undisclosed future time when all this has blown over and I can leave my house once more.

Seriously though how cute is this rabbit? It has a little house!!!

The theme for April's show is 'Traditional' which will include all makes and models as long as they are approximately Traditional (vaguely 1:9) scale. Popular Votes Photoshows IS BACK!

I am not going to start this Blog post with a load of excuses and reasons why I had no time to run the shows at the end of 2019 but instead I am going to focus on the awesome good news which is that it is BACK!

For those who don't know, Popular Votes Photoshows is a model horse photoshow series that is held on Facebook. Instead of me (or someone else) judging the photographs they are judged by the members of the group. Members vote using 'likes' and the horse with the most likes in each class goes into the championship.

The champion is then voted for, the best horse is featured here and also put as our cover photo for the month. And new for this year they will also get a ROSETTE! Yep that's right, I've ordered 12 custom rosettes for you to proudly display if you win :D

Popular Votes Photoshows - April 2019

I am pleased to announce that April's model horse photoshow is now OPEN!

This month the theme is 'resin and china'. The show is open to any model horse or equine that is made of resin or china. This includes commercial resins and chinas as well as artist resins and chinas.

There are 24 classes including a breed, performance and fun section. You can enter up to 6 models per class so there is plenty of potential to win!

Finally a massive congratulations to BFS Sally Delighted owned by Jennifer Tomey who was March's champion (the theme for March was 'other animal'). I personally love this shot and am so glad that others voted for it as well! It will make a great cover shot for the following month.

February's Photoshow

I'm a few days late posting about this but better late than never! For those who aren't in the Popular Votes Facebook group or who simply missed the announcement February's photo show is for stock horses.

There are 25 classes including some performance classes, a great chance to get those chunky monkeys out and show them off! Hopefully you got a few nice pics if you got snow last week!
