Golf

This guy is so cute, I'm almost tempted not to sell him!

Although I forgot to give him a tail, which is a bit weird. But I honestly didn't notice until I'd finished, photographed and uploaded his pictures!

If you'd like a rather unique looking key chain he is £3.00

Tatianna

I'm not too happy with this foal, I just don't think the colour really worked. I dunno. Maybe I'll sell her on.

Anyway for now she is packed up ready for tomorrow's show.

She is a Maggie Bennett pewter mini

Her colour was described as something odd like black perlino or something. Anyway she is basically a double dilute pinto

This picture shows up her size! She is TINY!

The 2nd Premier model has been released.

Sculpted by Karen Gerhardt he is available in either plaited or loose mane.

I've chosen plaited :D

Tetrach Spots Commission Piece

This commission piece was for one of our club members, did you know with your membership you get a free Stablemate paint job every year?

The requested colour was similar to one I did a few years back, a rose grey with tetrach spots. I found a decent reference picture that was slightly different.

The model provided is the G3 Stablemate Cantering Warmblood.

I was really apprehensive before starting. Sometimes I just look at a reference picture and think "how am I going to create that".

But once she had a few layers of pastelling it was clear she was actually working out quite well.

I'm really happy with her colour. Reference horse had two heavy white stockings on the back legs but I chose not to add those as I don't think it would have enhanced the colour at all.

Her new owner seems happy, which is all that matters, but for once I think I'm sort of happy as well. I quite like this girl!

If you want to get your paws on a free Stablemate paint job then you should definitely join our member's club. It is just one of the awesome benefits you receive: http://www.chestnutridge.co.uk/chestnut-ridge-members-club-929-p.asp

Horse and Hearts Riding Club

The latest range from Build a Bear definitely gets a mention here. The range consists of two horses and a selection of cute accessories.

Clearly something every model horse collector needs to add to their herd (I strongly maintain everyone needs a plushy for live show stress cuddles)

Horse one is a palomino AQH

Also available with tack (that you can buy separately)

Horse two is a bay Thoroughbred

Again you can buy her with tack or buy the tack separately

Some of the accessories available:

Seriously who thought of a cuddly hay bale!!!

Tack is available in three different designs.

I am just going to have to save my money for these! I already have a complete collection of the Build a Bear My Little Ponies, so clearly I need this range as well!

And obviously I will be entering one in performance...

Collector's Club Grab Bags #1 & #4

Our grab bags arrived yesterday, so I thought I would share what is in them!

Number 1

Bag includes:

  • Jubilation Mule
  • Glitterati 65th Anniversary Horse
  • Pack Saddle Set
  • Pippa Funnell Magic Spirit
  • Prince of Chintz
  • Aries
Prince of Chintz and Aries will be sold as I already have them!

Number 4

Bag includes:

  • Marwari
  • Prancer (this is the bay Thoroughbred warehouse find but is actually Prancer)
  • Metal Livestock Corral
  • Elska
  • Aintree
  • Ashley Junior Rider
Elska will be sold as I already have her! Which is a pity because this is a gorgeous variation.

Overall I'm quite happy, I'm annoyed I didn't get box 3 and get Giverny as I adore him but it is nice to have Aintree and a selection of beautiful regular runs. I really wanted Gliteratti so a lovely addition to my collection!

Three More Customs

First up is the final one from the last batch, a teeny tiny night heather to a wild bay

With her sisters, about to be trampled by Hucks!

She is looking for a new home if you would like her.

Second is Blackout

He is a Breyer G3 Jumper done to a seal bay

He has already found a new home!

And third and finally (although definitely not least, especially by size) is Blame It On You

He is a Schleich Palomino Stallion done to a 'black buckskin'

I quite like this one, I wasn't convinced by the colour but I think it has worked out quite well

He is also looking for a new home :)
