My Girl

First of all thank you Breyer for having water proof packing boxes! My sister clearly failed to notice the parcel getting drenched on the drive way.

Thankfully inside box, COA and pony were all fine.

So my order of preference had been:

Bay
Palomino
Alabaster

So I can't say I am disappointed with who I got :)

I'm rather fond of her. She is now chilling on the shelf with Smokin' Doubledutch, they are my only two CWPs, think I may need more...there's a rather nice one for sale on Chestnut Ridge at the moment...

Meet Jay-Z

OK not the real one but a little Saddlebred that has joined my herd.

This little cutey was a gift from a good friend of mine, he is just so sweet. He is also now my only Artist China and is very proud of his unique position among all of the Animal Artistry on my shelf.

So say a big hello to CRS 99 Problems

Rose Studio's Saddlebred

Saw this on Facebook last night and just had to share with you guys.

He looks like he is going to be an absolutely beautiful sculpture.

Check out Kay's Critters

Sometimes I like to blog about artists I've seen and just fallen in love with and this is definitely one of them.

I am yet to add one of these little cuties to my herd, I had the money for one last week, bid on the auction and then Brandy got sick and money got diverted and I let myself get outbid.

But I'll be watching out for more auctions in the future and will definitely have to get my paws on one, they are just adorable!

Meet Daffodil

I had the week from hell last week and was in need of serious cheering up.

I needed something reasonably cheap but also rather cute (the RubberNedz unicorn was clearly out of the picture) and this little girl seemed to suit.

I don't really do AA resins, I'm more a china girl myself but Daffodil was just so pretty and chestnuty and had such a proud face (and a nicely inexpensive price tag) that I couldn't resist.

She has definitely cheered me up with her cheeky little face. She really stands out on the shelf!

Lots of White

For some reason I have a weird ability to accidentally theme my days.

Today I've managed to have a finish of white items day. Not necessarily a bad thing as the two finished pieces are quite nice.

First up is my fourth bridle of the week (I'm on a bridle making frenzy). This one is done in white leather:

I also managed to finish off the first in my current batch of customs. This little guy is white grey:



I've given her the name Billy Brown.

Of course finishing off a model means I have to choose a new reference picture for my next custom and a new victim. I wanted to do bird catcher spots but instead have decided to do those large white splodges that are thought to be attributed to fungal infections. Something a bit different.

And the victim? Well that particular honour has gone to a Schleich Hanoverian stallion.

Painty Painty Painty

I'm already doing so much better than last year when it comes to actually painting some of my horses. I hardly got any done last year but this year we seem to be on a roll. Still don't really have the enthusiasm for it and forcing myself probably isn't good but I appear to be able to create some half decent items despite a complete creative block.

First up is CRS Spectral Zenith (Nadir) (beautifully named by the Chestnut Ridge Facebook fans).



Nadir is a gorgeous pewter pegasus that was given to me by a friend. I wanted to do something rainbowy and colourful but didn't want something completely OTT for once. So I went for a pastel rainbow effect.



I'm so proud of this little guy, he's already BMECS qualified both in workmanship and in hand. Photos really don't do him justice.



Second is another of my many Maggie Bennett pewter minis. This is my second lying down mare to be painted (I have another one yet to do). I wanted something a bit different so went for a chestnut brindle.



She has been named CRS Mystique Summers Madison (if you recognise the name then you are AWESOME).



Next up are two sales pieces although one has already sold.

The first is a teeny tiny night heather painted to a blue roan. I don't do many roans so thought it would be nice to have something different.



The second may seem a little boring but I think was quite sensible. She has been done to a solid black so that she can actually be shown as a Fell Pony! She is the first one I've done that is actually an appropriate colour for her breed, so will make a nice little show horse.
