The latest BreyerFest special run has been released

I love the colour, it is gorgeous, and I know some people like this mould but could they not have chosen a nicer one? There are so many beautiful moulds out there, this one is just so meh.

Still isn't really a single BF SR that I have actually fallen in love with and can't wait to have

Oak is growing on me, he's probably going to be higher up my list.

Painting, Painting, Painting

My hands are now pretty much always covered in paint and I had a massive fight with my airbrush (we are just about on talking terms again, it has promised to behave as long as I maybe use it a little less) but I am making really good progress with these customs. I am now working on a rate of painting one a day! That's quite impressive when you think one a month was an achievement before lockdown.

Come Undone

First up is 'Come Undone' a Breyer Stablemate G2 Shetland that has been painted to a light bay. He has a little white star and a single white sock.

Commander

Second is 'Commander'. Commander is a Safari Mini (Toob) Shire that has also been painted to a light bay.

Communitarianism

This is one of my favourites of the bunch. He is a Peter Stone Chips Friesian that has been painted to a star dapple grey. A really dramatic looking model.

Communication Breakdown

This is the first of the new Mini Whinnie unicorns to be painted. This little guy had his horn removed before being painted to a dark bay with a white star.

CRS Calcareous Earth

Alchemy is a gorgeous Maggie Bennett micro resin 'Aquilla' who has been painted to a light dapple grey. This one is joining my ever growing herd of tiny resin things! He doesn't seem too pleased about it though...

Seattle Soiree Models

Breyer have announced the models for the now cancelled Seattle Soiree. There is a rather complicated system for purchasing them which I won't go into now.

If you are after these models remember they are very limited runs so you are going to be spending quite a lot!

Crystalline and Winx

Breyer have announced their two spring releases for this. One was leaked earlier in the year so we have already met Winx but OMG CRYSTALLINE!

Many moons ago it seems Breyer posted this sneaky sneak peak of a sort of rainbow coloured model on their website. Well it was a pretty good sneaky sneak because they never actually revealed it.

Anyway on Monday news dropped about the Breyer Spring releases and I nearly fell off my chair. Take a look at Crystalline:



Now sadly Covid-19 means that it is unlikely that the UK will ever get this model in stock. It is already sold out at most USA dealers and we won't be getting anymore Breyer stock until at least September (maybe later). So sadly I think you're going to have to head abroad for this one. I will definitely be doing so!

Now Winx may be more positive. It's already been added as part of the standard UK line, so there may be a long wait but it's more likely than not that we will get her in:



Nice to see the Emerson mould being produced a decent solid racehorse colour!

Fields of Heather

Fields of Heather is the Sunday raffle model for this year's BreyerFest.

I'm not as in love with her as some of the others but she is definitely very nice. The colour really suits this mould.

Order of The Thistle

First of all what an amazing name.

Second of all I think I just died inside. Order of the Thistle is the Saturday raffle model for this year's BreyerFest and he is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen (and I've looked in a mirror)





He's a stunning champage pinto the Hamilton mould. Absolutely incredible. Good job Breyer!

Tack Making Again

OK so I'm not taking part in Tack Making Month because I didn't quite expect to be on lockdown and therefore did not prepare a project, supplies or application.

However, I am getting into the spirit by making my first pieces of tack in over a year. I decided, for funs, that I would work through my Tack Making Guide that has been sat, unopened, on my desk for many moons.

The beginning starts with halters, so I'm making halters following their patterns and designs rather than my own. It's quite fun following a tutorial and not just doing my own thing!

The first is a simple brown leather headcollar with gold hardware:

The second is natural leather and bigger than the last one. It has more buckles. It was meant to have a lead with a chain but I didn't realise that so it got the same lead as the other one!

I'm currently also working on a headcollar with sheepskin padding. Hoping to have that finished by today! Although I'm not sure it's really sheepskin weather anymore!
