Updated Products

Just a quick post to let you all know that I have updated several of the product images on the website.

Firstly after my recent spate of tack making I have updated all of the tack items with new images to show the different options. You'll find a lot more images to help you make the perfect choice for you.

Secondly I have fully updated all of the custom order items with images of recent customs. Each custom order option shows the last 5 customs painted in that size so along with my custom gallery you should be able to make a good decision about what size and colour to go for!

New Schleich Models

Good morning all! I hope you are all up bright and early, well to help you through the day here are some of the new Schleich 2013 range :D

All very nice models, my only concern is their eyes, they look very strange, seriously hoping that that is just the photography!

First up is the Hanovarian mare. Definitely not sure about the legs on this one...

Second we have a Hanovarian foal who seems to have inherited her mothers strange legs

Next we have the Appaloosa stallion

And the Appaloosa mare who I think is one of the prettiest but again legs are a bit off

And an appaloosa foal...again legs...

Now we have a rather dynamic Shire stallion!

And a Shire mare who is well...umm....not very Shirey

And Shire foal who has a furry belly which is quite cute

Now a very white Lippizzaner mare:

And a Lippizzaner foal with what appears to be a plaited mane, very strange indeed

And a rather grumpy Fell stallion

A Fell mare who again has bad legs

And a rather fuzzy looking Fell foal

A Haflinger mare who has, you guessed it, awful legs...again

A new Showjumping set (at least the riders have good legs)

And another riding set

Annoyingly Schleich are STILL not putting bits on their bridles...

As you may have guessed I am not particularly impressed with this years selection. They are not great confomrationally and the paint jobs seem to have also gone down hill again. That said you can never tell until you actually see the model in person so we will have to wait and see.

Breyerfest Horses

Today's post is a little share about some of the Breyerfest models that have been announced for this years Denim and Diamonds.

First up is Blue Bird who is one of the raffle models. This is a star dapple grey on the Tortillas mold. The model could be gorgeous but I think you will agree those dapples are a little odd!

Right number two is one of the Boots and Bling models. This gorgeous bucking bronco is definitely different. I'm not quite sure about the base colour on this one but the decoration is gorgeous. I do love decorators!

Next up is one of the exclusive models. This is two step a beautiful dun on the Destado mold. I love this colour on this mold it's absolutely gorgeous. I think this is one of the nicest of the bunch

And finally for now my favourite. I LOVE the Haflinger mold, it's just so gorgeous and pony like and this little cutey is no exception to the cuteness. He is just gorgeous in every way, I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but I adore him. So meet Buckaroo.

RIP Rowan

This morning we lost our eldest Guinea Pig Rowan. Rowan was born several years ago and was one of the first guinea pigs I ever bred.

Her mother was Stella (who we lost in 2011) and Polo (who we also lost in 2011).

In her long time with us Rowan had several litters the babies we kept included Daisy and Melon who are both still with us.

Late last year she also became a grandmother when her daughter Daisy gave birth to three pups. Only one survived and Rowan lives on in her beautiful grandson, Rainbow.

Rowan was also the last of our rossetted guinea pigs. All of our remaining piggies are smooth hair or long hair.

So rest in peace Rowan you were an amazing character and my life will never quite be the same without you saying hello to me everyday

The World's Oldest Horse!

I had to share this with you guys, this guy is 51 years old! Now that is impressive....what's even better is he doesn't look a day over 5 prancing around his field. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see these things:

Christmas Tack Making

I'm sort of not in the mood for customizing at the moment but seem to have developed a desire to tack make and as a result this Christmas I did rather a lot of tack making. I thought I would share some of my favourite pieces with you.

First up is an Arab halter, it's pink and beaded it looks a lot nicer than these pictures make it look but it's quite small so suits the Lady Roxana/Weathergirl/Sham type Arabs. Unfortunately I no longer own a Sham I think it would look really nice on him:

Second is a pink zebra print Western bridle. I think you'll agree this is rather awesome looking

Next up is one of my favourites. A zebra print western breastplate (honestly I am not going through an animal print obsession :p). It also has crystals just to make it more awesome!

Just incase you hadn't had enough pink here is a rather fetching pink Western saddle with love hearts and crystals:

And finally a blue decorative halter

Breyer 2013 Range

The Breyer 2013 range has been announced.

Not only are there some gorgeous models on some old favourite molds (including a lovely Sham) but there is also a good variety of new molds! A selection of molds that were released as part of last years Premier collection are now being released as regular runs and of course the ever popular Tortillas is also being released.

This catalog is not completely comprehensive it does, for example, miss out the decorator Stablemates but it's a pretty good overview!
