New Collection Pieces

So this post should have been just four horses but as I was cataloguing them I realised that I hadn't catalogued all the models I photographed at the end of last year and put away when we made the new cabinets and move the horses out of the pony room. So I ended up spending several hours cataloguing horses and thought I might as well share all of them with you :)

There were a total of 32 models that needed doing, so enjoy seeing 32 new members of my collection.

CRS Don't Cry For Me Argentina (Buenos Aires) - Breyer Collector's Club Special Run Buenos Aires

CRS Flash Dreams (Christmas in Bloom) - Breyer 2025 Christmas Horse 'Christmas in Bloom'

CRS Perdita (Manaos) - Breyer Manaos

It was this model that made me realise that I hadn't catalogued the models! I was sat there thinking, shouldn't there be another Polo Pony that's not too far off the end of the list?

CRS Arachnophobia (Arachne) - Breyer 2025 Halloween Horse Arachne

CRS Leaps and Bounds (Leopold) - Reaper Medallion, sculpted by Rayvin Maddock and painted by Unknown Artist

CRS Swadloon - Breyer Wild and Free Set Foal

CRS Helios 522 (Helios) - Breyer Stablemate Club Helios

CRS Breakneck Blitz (Blitz) - Breyer Mystery Horse Surprise - Series 7

CRS Rustboro Thriller (Thriller) - Breyer Halloween Surprise 'Thriller'

This was actually my second one, my original one was the Alborozo but it arrived damaged and my replacement was this guy

CRS Cornn Berry (Cornn) - Breyer Mystery Horse Surprise Series 7

CRS Pineco (Pineco) - Breyer Vintage Club Miniature Trading and Collecting Series

CRS Secret Power (Adamante) - Breyer Vintage Club Miniature Trading and Collecting Series

CRS Harbinger of Misfortune (Harbinger) - Breyer Stablemate Club Harbinger

CRS Nacrene (Nacrene) - Breyer 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar

CRS Spotted Frustration (Frustration) - Breyer 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar

CRS Silver Hondew (Hondew) - Breyer 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar

CRS Floraidh (Floraidh) - AA Arabian Foal

This was a wonderful gift from Donna at my baby shower, I am absolutely in love with her, she is just perfect

CRS Alexanders (Alexandra) - CollectA Spanish Walk Lipizzaner Mare

CRS Annual Mercury (Mercutio) - Mojo Rearing Tinker Stallion

CRS Crowberry (Caroline) - CF Micro Pewter Exmoor painted by me to a bay

So there we go! A whole new batch of horses catalogued although some of them have been with me since last November! The four new ones are Buenos Aires, Alexandra, Mercutio and Caroline but it was nice to show off the rest of them.

You can also definitely see which naming theme I was using at which time! I do love the Pokemon names for the little Mini Whinnies (and a few of the others).

2025 Photo Show Placings So Far

I know it's a cliché but how is it already August? How are we well into the second half of the year already? Madness!

Anyway to celebrate the way time just keeps on coming, and coming, and coming I decided to share some 2025 photo show wins with you!

Don't worry I'm not going to share every single placing (we'd literally be here until 2026), instead I thought I would just share some 1st places and champions.

Most of the shows I enter are through OMHPS. If you aren't using this platform I would honestly give it a go. It's made photo showing so easy and so much fun!

Not a huge batch as I haven't entered many shows this year, but an unusual bunch! Probably not the horses from my collection that you'd think would have done the best! It's so interesting how different the placings in photo shows and live shows are and how much of a difference photography can make.

The Sea, The Sea and the Model Horse

Did you know that I have themes and systems for naming my model horses? You didn't? Well now you do! With over 2,500 models it can be very hard to come up with new stable and show names for each model so finding themes or systems to use has made life a lot easier. One of my favourite themes is books by my favourite authors. One of those is Iris Murdoch. So today I thought I would share with you all of my models named after Iris Murdoch novels.

Make sure to let me know which is your favourite Murdoch work in the comments below. I suppose you could also just let me know which your favourite model is as well! You never know they might match!
