I finished this piece off at the weekend. He is a commission for Sarah Hindmarsh. She said I could choose the colour so I chose grey, I think it really suits this mold and there aren't actually that many grey G2 Arab's around.

Some Sad Piggie News
I have some very sad news....when I got home from Uni today I went to check on the piggies and discovered that one of the babies was obviously injured. I immediately called the vet but they couldn't see him till this afternoon. Unfortunately he passed away before he could get there, although I don't think they would have been able to do anything for him.
I have absolutely no idea what happened to him, his mother is an incredibly good mum so I don't think she did anything and my husband said they were all fine last night. All I know is I came home to discover him not being able to walk and with blood on his side.
It's absolutely heartbreaking that after everything we went through with his mum and this labour that something like this would just happen out of the blue. The other baby is absolutely fine, as is mum but she is obviously upset by it, she wasn't happy when I took his body out.
There isn't anything else to say about today, I'm in no mood to work, I feel like I've just had my heart ripped out.

New eBay Report a Buyer Option & Black Caviar
There may be some of you who remember those days when sellers were allowed to leave neutral and negative feedback...you remember those days when you could flag none paying buyers so that people could actually block them?
Well those days are long gone but I just noticed quite a nice little feature that has appeared on eBay....
When leaving feedback for a buyer you now have the option to 'Report This Buyer' I haven't had cause to press it yet so not sure what it does....but I am sure within time I will be able to update you! Or maybe you already have let me know if you have.
I just thought I would share this little development with you!
O and just in case you want something a little more model horsey....meet Black Caviar:

Friesians
I am sure that most of my regular followers are well aware that Friesians only come in one colour...black...with minimal white (with maybe the exception of a few genetic mutants that occasionally pop up).
However, there are nowadays some Friesian variants (as there are with Arabs) such as Fox Friesians or White Friesians (such as the famous and very gorgeous Nero). But these horses, like pintabians and araloosa's are not technically purebred and are not registerable as Friesians. That said they still have the same minimum white requirement as well (which seems like a bit of a contradiction in Nero's case but we get the point).
Some people seem to think that these are actual Friesian colours...their not....Friesians are still only registerable in white with minimal black....no stud would allow these 'new' colours to stand at stud as they would corrupt the breed lines, however pretty they may look!

Patches
As many of you probably know by now I have a minor obsession with lying down foals in the large Stablemate scale....I do have rather a lot unpainted so decided this weekend to get another painted up to add to my collection.
Patches draws the number to 7 painted :D (6 resin and one china). He is a HA Gladstone Resin.
He was painted to a nice black pinto :)
Squish mucho!
His face markings, he has one wall eye on the side with the blaze:
His cute little face
My favourite part of this resin is actually the hooves. They have got the foaly hooves just right, many sculptures put the foal hooves just like adult ones, they are not, they are completely different, this little guy's hooves are perfect :D

Today's Workings
I haven't managed to get much done today as I did a double shift at work but I have a couple of updates!
1. I finished off this little custom mini, he's nothing overly special but he's very sweet to look at:
2. I started work on a new Classic bridle. It will be a large classic scale one in brown with a fixed cavesson noseband. I am using the Rio Rondo kit to make it, no photo's as of yet.
3. I also started work (and continued work) on two other customs. The first is a grey Arabian commission piece for Sarah Hindmarsh. The second is a little resin foal for myself :D
5. I also listed a lot of items to eBay as it's a sort of free listing weekend:

Daisy Update
Hi guys!
Just a quick post to let you know that the vet has given Daisy the all clear :D She didn't have another foetus inside and she is producing good amounts of milk. Both babies look viable so hopefully you will be getting lots of cute baby pictures over the next few weeks!

Daisy Update
Hi all,
This is just a quick post to update you about Daisy.
I got a phone call last night from my mum to say that Daisy had given birth. Unfortunately one baby was still born and only two more were born (both alive and well). As you may remember Daisy had four babies inside her, she was x-ray'ed at the vets so we know that.
As a result she is currently in the vets with my husband waiting to be seen, most likely they will have to induce her to give birth to the last baby (who will most probably be born dead).
But on the positive side meet the two live babies:
I am sooo eager to get home and see them, if it wasn't for inner temple I would be rushing home! But unfortunately I have seminars and law stuff so I have to yet again miss out on the fun bits of pet ownership....

Daisy
Hi guys,
This is a little non-model horsey related post to let you know about Daisy. Meet Daisy my 3 year old piggie whom I bred several years ago. Her mother is still alive and lives with her but her daddy is sadly no longer with us:
I realised yesterday that Daisy had gotten herself pregnant. I know when this happened as I only have one un-castrated boar and I know about two weeks before I got married the two of them were off on some form of romantic retreat in the scrub land behind our house. Meet the offending male guinea pig, Hugo:
Unfortunately Daisy is three years old and has never been bred from before, the risk of her giving birth with a fused pelvis is therefore very large.
As a result we rushed her to the vets this morning. After being x-rayed the vets concluded that her pelvis hadn't fused and therefore she wasn't at too much of a risk. She has four babies inside so we are now just counting down the days to wait and see whether she has them OK.
So yes I will keep you updated and hopefully in a week or so we shall have some cute baby piggie pictures!

How To Make A Rainbow Unicorn - Making The Horn
This post will tell you how to make the horn for your unicorn
Step 1
Roll a blob of epoxy putty
Step 2
Now make the horn. Make it by rolling the blob in your hands, roll it more on one side than the other to create a conical shape. Now twist it round in circle to create the twisty shape of the horn:
Step 3
Now add a small amount of putty to the forehead of the horse. Flatten it down.
Step 4
Use water or smoothener to smooth it down so that it is nice and smooth against the horse
Step 5
Now place the horn onto the centre of the horse and smooth down the edges with the milliput you have added using a sculpting tool
Step 6
Now leave your model to dry
