General Updates

 Hello everyone :)

I thought I would do a quick post to update everyone on what is happening here at Chestnut Ridge and how your orders/prizes are getting along.

Choose the Colour Horses

Work has started on all of the Choose the Colour Auction horses. They are all at various stages of completion, some are nearly done whilst others only have base coats.

If you are attending BMECS and have one of these horses, please let me know so I can prioritise yours to get finished by then!

This guy is so very pink! But don't worry he will get darker.

Grand Photoshow Judging

This is ongoing, the only sections left to finish are Original Finish, Performance and Workmanship. With hundreds of entries per class this has been a really long process but we are slowly getting there.

If you login to your OMHPS account you will receive notifications about your winnings.

You can also click on your username in the top right corner and then click 'Show Results' to view all your results.

Below is a bit of an insight into the entry numbers for some classes!

Recycled Live V

Preparation is underway for Recycled Live V. BMECS qualification has been approved and I am starting to acquire raffle prizes.

If you would like to send a raffle prize for the show please let me know.

We also could do with more 1st-3rd place certificates (lower placings are not needed). Again let me know if you'd like to donate some of these!

BMECS

As always we will be running BMECS fun week in the run up to BMECS 2022. There will be five chances to win goody bags, free gifts at the show and the chance to win prizes for completing BMECS Bingo!

If you've got any suggestions for things you would like to be included in BMECS Bingo then just shout :D

Sussex Showdown 2022

Last weekend I attended Sussex Showdown 2022. This is another 'hang over' covid show (and was also the last show I attended before Covid, it happened just 5 days before lockdown)! Remember the toilet roll shortage? I donated some to the raffle at that show 😂

Anyway, thankfully this show had less of a threat of imminent death about it, which is always nice. It was a lovely show as always with a really varied class list. There were also a smaller number of showers than normal which gave it a really nice, relaxed atmosphere.

It was also Magpie's first show! We hadn't intended for Brendon to stay with her, but she was being so good she got to stay all day. She was an absolute darling and was so well behaved, she really is in training to be a Brandy #2 (not that anyone could ever replace Brandy)

Fun Fact: For some reason Blogger has put the pictures backwards so I'm just gonna leave them to the bottom of the post!

The day started with performance, being tired and most sensible I decided not to engage in such ridiculousness this time round. It did appear that most others also took the sensible route and therefore the entries were quite slim.

After performance we had a nice half hour break because we were so SPEEDY, that was nice, all shows should have nap time included I think.

We then moved onto Original Finish, Custom and CTF. The CTF division was split into Julips/Magpies/Felties/Equorums, Posh Bendy & Plastic CTF. There were some seriously nice OF models on display, including several rather rare ones, I was very much jealous of a lot of the entries!

After the big sections were done it was time for lucheon. I had a sandwich, well half of one, Maggie stole the other half. I would say Brandy would never do that but in reality Brandy would have stolen the entire sandwich and then half of everyone elses.

At the end of lunch we had the raffle. I won the chocolate and that is all you need to know because I was MOST HAPPY with this winning.

After lunch we started with the custom and artist resin section as well as finishing off the various CTF sections. At this show the two larger CTF sections (plastic and bendy) had been further divided to split out bendy CTF and craft CTF. This is always nice as it gives your felties and Julips a chance to do well :)

There was also a custom CTF section which is always one of the highlights of this show, mainly because of the incredible workmanship and talent that is shown converting what are often just toys into what can only be described as works of art.

The day finished with the Supreme Championship. I'm very glad I had entries and didn't have to judge it! There were so many gorgeous horses.

And then it was back home, via KFC of course, Magpie enjoyed her popcorn chicken and we headed back home to a very annoyed Brandy who realised we had been to a show without her!

Here are the photographs :)
