Some New Customs

Finally getting my life back on track a bit, which means I've actually been painting a little bit.

That said it isn't going too well. The two Schleich's I've done have been far from perfect and I've managed to turn my two golden buckskins orange. O and my bay went through a bit of an orange phase as well but I've managed to tone that down!

So things aren't going great but here are a few completed pieces, including some I started but lost the reference for, so had to improvise a bit!

First up is a blue roan G3 Paint horse commission. This has gone to a club member, you get one free Stablemate commission as part of your membership.

Second is a blue roan CollectA Appaloosa commission (complete coincidence that two people wanted to the same colour at the same time). This was an upgrade from the free Stablemate commission that was won as part of our Rio Games Treasure Hunt.

And now onto the not so successful bunch...

A buckskin

A palomino

One of the nicer ones, a little bay mini whinnie

Black pinto cob

And finally the mosaic horse. He's actually rather lovely but has so many flaws in his finish, which is such a pity. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong with this horse!

So there we go, my favourite has to be the blue roan CollectA. That colour works really well on the mould. A lovely looking piece.

Leandro

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Please Breyer, you've only ever picked me once in like five years. PLEASE PICK ME FOR THIS ONE!

If I don't get picked definitely be after this on the after market.

I'M IN LOVE!

Rosie & Bailey

The final release in this year's Vintage club is now available.

I'm a real sucker for the strawberry roan colour. I love this pair to bits, they are just adorable. Definitely not to everyone's tastes but they will be great shelf models :)

Agamemnon Rex

Can't believe I've never introduced this guy! This is RubberNed number 10!

I've been after a bay Arab stallion and when I saw this guy on the RT I just couldn't resist. He is beautiful. He is also now father to Pip (Duchess is Pip's mum).

Thankfully Pip is a boy so think he is safe from sacrifice as it stands...

He's rather angry about things though!

Show 5 - NOW OPEN

We are over half way through the eventing series and just two more shows to go! But don't worry, it isn't too late to take part.

If you'd like to have a go then drop me an email to competitions@chestnutridge.co.uk or join the Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1455797798017024/

These are postal shows, all you need to do to enter is fill in a spreadsheet! It is that simple :) Results are done by random so everyone has an equal chance of doing well.

There are varying entry types including paid entries where you can win prizes :D It is open to all makes and models, the horses could even be broken, that is the joy of postal shows.

The shows have the theme of a 3 Day Event with sections from BE80(T) right up to CCI****. Horses receive dressage scores, cross country scores and show jumping scores just as they would in a real event.

Horses also compete in a year long championship (you get points at each show where you place in the Top 10). The champion horse get's a trophy at the end of the year!

It's all really good fun, there is even a bit of role play in the Facebook group. So definitely give it a go if you haven't already.

Show 5 is 'Australian Open' and closes on the 21st of October 2016. Entries are open now.

As you can see the team here at Chestnut Ridge work very hard at each event...
